Playa Den Bossa

Playa Den Bossa is on the South East coast of Ibiza and it’s only 15 minutes
by car from Ibiza Town. If you prefer to be close to the airport to avoid
long transfer times this resort is ideal.

Over the past 10 years or so it has undergone some rejuvination work and
now it is a much more attractive place with plenty of hotels, apartments,
bars and restaurants. It is still on the flight path though and you will get
the noise of the low flying aircraft zooming past at various times.
However, it doesn’t seem to bother the majority of people who descend
on the resort during the summer.

Playa Den Bossa will appeal to families, couples and clubbers. Families will
enjoy the large sandy beach which is the longest on the island whilst
couples who like the beach and the clubs, but at a more relaxed pace will
appreciate the quieter side to Playa Den Bossa.

Clubbers can take advantage of Playa Den Bossa’s close proximity to
popular clubs in Ibiza town, Pacha by the port, Anfora the gay club in the
old town and DC10 which is a crazy venue in an old aircraft hangar, with
an outside terrace at the end of the airport runway!

Space (now Hi Ibiza), the famous and fabulous club is of course on your doorstep, their
opening and closing parties should not be missed. It’s so popular that
they set up a stage in the car park to accommodate an extra 5,000 people.
Another club to visit in the resort is Sankeys, it hasn’t been around long,
but it’s already an integral part of the club circuit.

A short ride on the bus or in a taxi will take to you Amnesia and Privilege.
Amnesia has a spectacular light show and the most advanced sound
system of any club on the island. Privilege is the world’s largest club. It
has a ceiling 25 metres high and a swimming pool inside.

During the day in Playa Den Bossa the middle part of beach is home to
Bora Bora, it’s on the beach in front of the jet apartments and it’s the
place to be once Space closes. You can dance on the beach, or just flop
down on a sunbed to the sounds of another Ibiza summer.

If you want an adult only hotel with the club vibe, then stay at the Usuaia
Beach Hotel, or (new for 2013) the Tower. It holds amazing pool parties
that you can enjoy from your balcony. It isn’t cheap though!

Clubbers have a wide choice of budget apartments and cheap hotels. The
Jet Apartments, the Tivoli, the Ebano, the Bossa Mar, the Playa Sol and the
Club La Noria are all lively and close to the action.

Families and couples who want a quieter location should stay either side
of Bora Bora or slightly away from the seafront. There are plenty of good
family friendly hotels. The Don Toni, Fiesta Club Palm Beach and the Hotel
Club Bahamas. Couples will enjoy the Garbi, The Migjorn and the Grand
Palladium hotels, they are set it quieter areasof the resort, and provide
more comfortable amenities.

Playa Den Bossa has also got a water park, it’s called Aquamar and it’s
behind Space. Although it is a bit dated, it is still a brilliant day out for
adults, tenagers and children. There are about five big slides and four for
childrenand are plenty of sunbeds and parasols. You can take lunch in or
eat at the café. It is open from 10am to 6pm.

Most cafes and restaurants cater for children, some have play parks and
others give out paper, crayons and toys to keep the little ones amused
whilst you eat. The Moorea serves really good food at a reasonable price,
it’s especially good for barbecued meat. Just head for the Jet Apartments,
it’s part of their complex, they also have a good pizzeria and a
supermarket.

If you like Italian food try Ciao Ciao and the Buena Onda café, they’re
both very good and for Chinese try the Wok Gran China. Clubbers will find
lots of takeaway and fast food available.

More expensive restaurants are the Asian restaurant Mumak, The Sands
Restaurant with it’s great chilled music and excellent chefs and Sissi’s for
Tex Mex, Pizzas and Sushi. The Ushuaia restaurant also serves Japanese
food, although expect to pay a lot more than average.
Playa Den Bossa is a real mix of cheap, mid range and expensive
accomodation and facilities. There is a place for everyone in this resort
and it’s ideally located for trips into Ibiza Town and getting to and from
the airport quickly.
